The first project was based on several new Glimmer Glam color combos…and they are gorgeous! I wanted the sparkle & twinkle to stand out so my canvas stars, covered with Glimmer Glam, sits upon a matte white canvas background. I used Grandma’s House, Twinkle Toes, Cookies N’ Cream and Calm Before the Storm to paint the stars. Unfortunately you can’t get a good idea how these stars twinkle…I guess you will have to try them for yourself!

The 2nd project was based on a Glimmer Mist color way called Icicle Blue. A small 6″ x 12″ canvas received several coats of all the colors that I allowed the colors to pool and drip along with Prima Flowers misted to match. The Glimmer Mists used from left to right are Mountain Mist, Pop Rocks, Blitzen, Icicle Blue, Night B4 Christmas and Afraid of the Dark. Tattered Angels letters colored with several of the blues finish off this piece.

As you may have heard Tattered Angels is now under the umbrella of Canvas Corp. and I was thrilled to be able to work with several of their products. In my signature round canvas I created an art journal background with several of the new Tattered Angels Plain Jane products. I also used several different materials to show how Plain Jane would react with them…manilla tags, chipboard, tape, canvas & twine…finished off with Canvas Corp twine. I used Plain Jane SIMPLY SHEER for the background in Light Blue, Faded Yellow, Warm Green & Dark Blue and Plain Jane BASEBOARD in Red Rocks used with punchinella to add texture. The Canvas Corp. canvas banner pieces and twine were also misted with these colors. The Chipboard was misted with Ivory BASEBOARD. To finish off the piece carious stencils from The Crafters Workshop were used with Plain Jane STAINED GLASS in Green & Purple. At first I wanted some GLIMMER & GLAM but as the piece evolved I saw the possibilities with this new product line. It seems that many customers have requested Tattered Angels paint products…”hold the sparkle”!

My last project was created with one of the new clam pack sets based on international travels…called Germany. I had this fabulous 12″x12″photo album from Walnut Hollow, a preferred partner, and used many different techniques to show how well these clam pack color choices work together. If you have been following this blog then you already know that wood takes all these products so well. The Glimmer Mist Colors chosen to represent GERMANY are Wheat Beer, Partridge in a Pear Tree, Nougat & Mallard.

I hope you take a look at all the new Tattered Angels products and colored…with the addition of the Plain Jane paint line you will have so many possibilities available to you. I know you will see more projects over the next year showing you all the different ways to incorporate Tattered Angels into every project.

2012 Tattered Angels Design Team Member

The first one is a mini book project I am working on all month. I have been posting my prompts for the daily pages on my blog each day. This is the cover of the mini.

It’s a chipboard mini binder. I used Chalkboard Mist on the cover mistable paper and, it’s hard to tell in the photo, but the numbers and wooden letters are coated in silver Glimmer Mist, too.

Here’s the spine, with is coated with a glimmery coat of silver Glimmer Mist, as well.

Next up is a card I created for the Canvas Corp booth at CHA.

I just love how the Chalkboard Mist looks misted through the stencil and on the doily.

My last project is a wedding layout. The mistable paper is misted with silver Glimmer Mist and patina Glimmer Mist. The doily, the wooden letters and the canvas trim are all misted with silver Glimmer Mist. On the top layer of the trim I used my chevron stencil. I love the subtle pattern and texture it gives.

First up is a mini canvas by Canvas Corp.  I used Plain Jane – Simply Sheer in Teal, Taupe, Faded Yellow, Light Blue and Shade.  These colors are just gorgeous on canvas and paper. I also used Want2Scrap Bling and Spellbinders die templates.

This is a photo of my beautiful niece, Brynley.  My Mom made beach dresses for all the girls.  Brynley looked so pretty walking along the shore in her new dress on the Outer Banks, during our vacation.  I couldn’t help but take a photo of her.  Love you Brynley

I have an obsession with coffee, and making mini albums out of cardboard coffee cups and sleeves.  I cleaned, cut up, and flattened a coffee cup, then covered it with Pink Paislee mistables paper and ribbon, Prima flowers, Spellbinders die cut flowers, and a glimmer misted coffee sleeve.

The large bottle cap by Maya Road was filled with a wedding photo of my hubby, Aaron and I, then filled with Matte Glossy Accents.  Coffee cup albums are so much fun to create! I used Glimmer Mist ~ Be Mine, LED Red, Cupid, Black Cherry, Cranberry Zing, and  Blackberry Cordial.

My third project is a canvas bag by Canvas Corp. I also Tattered Angels bird stencil, Pink Paislee scallop mistable ribbon and Prima flowers.

This bag has a few of my favorite colors of Glimmer Mist ~ Dragonfly, Sunflower, English Ivy, and Aquamarine.  Each scallop ribbon shows how the color of each Glimmer Mist can vary when you add several layers of it to the ribbon, or just one layer.  Cool huh?

And now let go to my inspiration and projects. We are in February and you can’t escape from doing a Valentine’s day project. I did several of them but the most important projects for me are the ones that were made for my two treasures – my husband and my precious little one! I decided to make two soft couscins that represent the tenderness of their love. I took some fabric and sprayed them with Glimmer mist. I used three colors: Red Led, Cranberry Zing and Irridescent Gold. I sprayed them a lot and the on the wet fabric appeared a nice color blending. Than I swewd the cousins and added some details. Each heart has the appropriat intial – Framed font, covered with Chandelier Glimmer Glam.

The second project is a LO and also this one is for my two most presious things. They are always together enjoying boy games and sharing prescious time – they are best buddies!

For this LO I used Island Spring Glimmer Glaze for the base paper to give a profoud frame to the intire LO. For the splashy circle I used just a plate and than sprayed the paper arround it several times and used the heat gun in between the sprays. I also dipped a clean toothbrush in the glimmer mist and sprakle it arround the plate.

My third project was made for my friend’s birthday. It’s a 3D canvas Heart. I love this project because instead of having a flat painting there’s an outgrowing heart. The inside part of the heart is covered with tender flowers that are all covered with Sangria Glimmer Glaze and on them there are lying the names of my friend’s doughters. On the outside of the heart there is a place for some significant initials and dates and other elements. The final cover of the outside world is sprayed with Chalk Glimmer Mist.

For me most of the boys layouts should contain lots of color! So I can’t imagine them without my Glimmer mists. Now I am hooked on using my own masks, here the paw of a dog that you can see was used as a mask. Made from the box from this toy.

On this layout I combined 2 colors of glimmer mist, matching the paper that I picked to use for this layout.

And the last layout is different. That features the soft mist color with all it shine that perfectly matches the theme of a sweet nap time of a little one. Love that effect!

Today I want to share with you a couple of projects I created for CHA.

The first one is a layout created with Canvas Corp products.

The clock face was first stamped with a screen and Island Spring glaze and then sprayed with Sprout Chalkboard.

My next project is a little (8×8) canvas for which I used a color palette of oranges.

The colors I used are Sugar Maple, Tiger Lilly, Marmalade, Oriental Poppy, Corn Bread and Butternut Squash.

The background was first stamped and embossed with white embossing powder and then sprayed with glimmer mist.

The last canvas (12×12) was made with Plain Jane products. In case you don’t know, Plain Jane is a range of 3 new paint products that have been revealed at CHA, These are plain products which means as much as similar to the already existing products only without the glimmer. Tattered Angels has now Simply Sheer which can be compared with Glimmer Mist, Stained Glass which can be compared with Glam and Baseboard which can becompared with Chalkboard.

Used on this project are Stained Glass Yellow and Red, Baseboard Red Rocks and Simply Sheer Pink, Light Blue, Teal and Shade. For the stems and the leaves i used Sprout Chalkboard.

I first applied tags to the canvas and covered everything with Gesso, then I used a screen and the Yellow Stained Glass to stamp on the tags. After the stained glass had dried I sprayed the canvas with the Simply Sheer and the Baseboard.

I sprayed Canvas Corp Tissue paper with Simply Sheer, stamped on it and then cut out circles in different sizes to create the flowers. The metal buttons in the center of the flowers are colored with Stained Glass.

I used book paper sprayed with Sprout Chalkboard for the stems and the leaves. I added some extra color to them by rubbing them with a Olive green distress ink pad.

Finally I added rubons and cut out stamped letters to finish the canvas.

For my second post on Tattered Angels blog, I wanted hot colors ! It’s really cold now in France, it’s snowing everywhere, even in the South of France where I lives…So I NEED summer colors in my SCRAP

For my first layout, I made a quick step-by-step in 5 points to explain you how I processed to create my background.

Layout : Disney

Step1 : Begin to play with your Glammer Glam

I use 3 colors : Organic Garden, Big Apple, Mermaid

I painted like a round with a large paint in red (Big Apple Glimmer Glam) and green (Organic Garden)

I added just few drops in blue ( Mermaid)

Step2 : Play with a template

I use alphabets template and Glimmer Mist Oriental Poppy to add some texture and design.

Step3 : Add pictures, papers embellissements

Step4 : Add some texture with sewing

I really love to play with sewing ! I choose blue thread to recall blue Glimmer Mist.

You don’t need to be an expect ! Sew just fews lines as you want !

Be careful ! Your background need to be dry !

Step5:Embellish it now !

Your background is now ready, you can add your title, journaling, stamps and embellissments !

A layout about me and how lucky I’m !

I wanted to use lots of colors ! My favorites colors : green, pink, yellow, orange and blue.

I began with a template to add some design on my patterened paper, I used Glimmer Mist “Peach Delight”

When it’s dry, I add pieces of patterned papers, my picture and drops (Glimmer mist “Patina Blue”,” Oriental Poppy”)

First up I have this page using Tattered Angels mists and Echo Park Papers

I used a mix of glimmer mist colours for this layout Twinkle Yellow, Bubble Light Green & Mel’s Diner and then Emerald Cove Glimmer Glaze

Next up another canvas… if you remember the two I did before Christmas I went with the same idea for this one. But in beautiful Fall colours

The Glimmer mists I used were Bronze, Blackberry Cordial & Pumpkin Spice. Hammered Copper Glam and, Valencia Chalkboard Mist.

And last but I think my favourite from todays post… I’m a purple girl alot of scrapper find it hard to work with purple!! well I love it!! such a rich happy colour.

On this layout I used Blackberry Cordial, Pink Cadillac and Pop Rocks and this colour really does rock!!

My name is Lene Neby and I live i Norway with my hustband and our 5 kids.

I must admit that I’m super proud of being taken out to be a part of the design team to Tattered Angels. This is a dream come true and I am really looking forward to the task. My first post in this blog are of my three layouts that I made to the application.
My style, as you see, can be really messy. My layouts often have many details and much paint and glimmermist. The more mess – the more I enjoy myself. I am lucky to be the mother of 5 children, it is usually always someone to scrappe (although the boys in the house often escape when they see me coming with the camera.

My second layout is made on with bazzil – you see that don’t you ??? LOL I went a bit crazy with the glimmermist in different green colors and some stencils.

On my last layout I have been playing with the effect of watering glimmermist and the rare color combo – orange and pink. Well, this is my first 3 layouts for Tattered Angels, hope you like them.

Hello Hello It is Louise Nelson here from Adelaide, Australia.

For my very first post I get to share with you my scrappy love for all things fabulously Tattered Angels!! with the projects I created for my design team application.

I don’t actually have a preference for the types of projects I create, however in saying that I did do all layouts for my submission.

Style wise, as you can see from my layouts, I tend to be a bit of a minimalist; I love ‘white space’ on my layouts, I love to hand journal, use non traditional products, chipboard, gesso, mists and small photos!

If you look at my close-up photo below you will see that I had lot’s of fun using a selection of glimmer mist, glam, glaze, and chalkboard to get a funky colour effect for my background and chipboard peacock feather. I have used a combination of; Firefly chalkboard glimmer mist, Fully Purple glimmer mist,  Sunshine glimmer glam,  Fairway chalkboard glimmer mist,  Midnight Rendezvous glimmer glaze, and Private Meadow glimmer glam.

For this particular layout of my beautiful young  friend Jessica I first created the background using  gesso and a butterfly mask to give me a butterfly shape with subtle visual dimension. Once this was dry I covered the remainder of the layout backboard with a fine layer of gesso. After the gesso dried I applied liberal applications of “Mauve”lous chalkboard glimmer mist to highlight and showcase the butterfly shape and photo.

To add a little something different to this particular layout I applied some Valencia and Inchworm chalkboard glimmer mist to the photo edges, using a paint brush, just like you might with ink, this can be seen more clearly in the close up photo below.

I have also used the Inchworm chalkboard glimmer mist to colour the title and add extra colour to the layout background with random splats along with Valencia chalkboard, and Calypso chalkboard glimmer mist.

For this particular layout I used one of my favourite colour chalkboard glimmer mists, Grape Ape. I first sprayed a Crafters Workshop template and then used it to stamp onto the back board background . Once this was dried I applied a thin coat of gesso over the top with a credit card scrapping technique.

The added extra splats of red on the background,wooden branches on each side of the photo, and on the chipboard title is the lush Flirty glimmer glaze.
